Sabazios — The Sky Father
“The sky asks nothing of you. It does not judge. It does not bargain. It simply is. Fly in it or crawl beneath it — that choice is yours alone.” — Fade, during a storm-watch
What Is Known
Sabazios is the Sky Father — a god of open air, wild freedom, and the untamed storm. He is the wind that fills a ship’s sails, the lightning that splits the sky, and the thunder that shakes the ground. He is freedom itself, given form and will.
He has no patience for tyrants, slavers, or anyone who would put chains on another. His priests teach that freedom is not given — it is taken, claimed, and defended. Sabazios helps those who help themselves, and those bold enough to seize their own fate.
Fade serves Sabazios as a cleric of the open road. The Sky Father’s power flows through her as storm and wind.
How He’s Depicted
Almost always as a bearded horseman riding across stormclouds, a lightning bolt raised like a spear. In art, he moves from left to right (west to east), the direction of storms across the sea. His temples are open-air sanctuaries on high ground — no roof, because the sky is the ceiling.
